wool-blend felt sheets from
hereI noticed the other day that my felt reserves were a bit low. I chose some different colors this time as well as my standbys. I love getting this stuff out of the package and just staring at it for a while. Endless possibilities.
I know what you mean! There is a quilt shop in Tucson, where my parents live. It's called The Quilter's Market. They sell little packages of fat eighths and fat quarters that are all rolled up like this and arranged in a nice spectrum. I like to go in and just stare at them. I bought a pack once, and couldn't even bring myself to open it so that I could just keep looking at it! Geez. That's bad. Thanks for the link to where to get wool blend felt. It is hard to find in good colors. Usually you can just find the cheap felt in all these colors.
ReplyDeleteLOVE it!! Just so pretty to look at - I haven't really be sure where to purchase quality felt, so thanks so much for linking to that shop!!

So pretty! Can't wait to see what you'll make out of it! :)
ReplyDeleteThis may be a silly question... but... I've been using my felt as is off the bolt - should I have been washing it first? The stuff I make with it will never be washed, but I'm thinking that it might last longer if the felt were compressed. I'm afraid it might be too thick to work with then. What do you do?
ReplyDeleteAnd thank you for posting the link. My quilting shop doesn't carry this spectrum of colors and the links I had found didn't sell smaller cuts.

must get wool felt! Thanks for the reminder :)
ReplyDeleteYou just made my day!!!! I was looking everywhere lastnight to find a webpage to buy felt, but it was so expensive everywhere, and then I read this post! Thanks, thanks, thanks! I have so many projects and my local store doesn't have a big variety of colors, oh I'm happyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy...

Hey, everybody! Yay! I've been very happy with all the purchases I've made from them. Love the colors.
ReplyDeleteSewMuchFun4, no I don't wash my wool felt. It is my understanding that you CAN wash it, but I think you have to be careful because the colors may run. Also the texture changes, it shrinks and thickens. I never use it on anything that has to be machined laundered. My wool felt creations are surface clean only.
I made your owl in the tree design for my moms birthday card.
ReplyDeleteI didn't follow the tutorial exactly because I had to make everything a little bit smaller, but I like how it turned out!
