out with my Flickr account and in with the Share Photos page

By way of an underwhelming announcement, I've deleted my Flickr account. You might be thinking, "What's Flickr?"

Exactly. It's been many moons since I've uploaded or checked in with my photo groups. Years ago, they were a great way for us folks to show each other what we were making with mmmcrafts patterns and tutorials. It was great while it lasted, but I don't want to continue paying for a service that I no longer personally use.

To replace the Flickr photo groups, there's a new SHARE PHOTOS page on the blog (also there's a new button for it in the nav ^up there at the top) explaining how to share and tag your photos for several popular apps. Tag me, please! I really love to see what you make!

(BTW, with the exception of the peonies and the shot of my studio, the photos you see up there are all from other talented mmmakers! You can search #mmmcrafts on Instagram to see more, as well as #twelvedaysornaments.)

  1. Yeah... Flickr. What was that, anyway? I haven’t used my account in years. I should probably delete mine, too, since it’s changing hands and who knows what that’ll mean.

    1. Haha, Grandma G. Yeah. Fun while it lasted. I was thinking that too...any unused account is a security risk, IMO.

  2. Gosh, Flickr! That's a blast from the past but it was my introduction into the online world of all this fabric. I wonder if my account is still there. I might go and check now. Great idea to put all of your photos together in a new page.

    1. Hey, Anorina, I didn't re-upload my photos somewhere else, because most shots are on my blog already. I'll slowly start to populate my newer Instagram feed with throwbacks. Most of my blog shots can be seen on Pinterest also.

  3. I tried logging in to my account to delete it, and none of my email addresses were recognized. Hmm.

    1. I found out when I deleted mine that you have to use your Yahoo email address to log in. Try that. Then fight your way past the stern sounding pages of warnings that you don't actually REALLY want to delet your account, do you??? Haha.

    2. It's a good thing I wrote down that Yahoo address -- I never used it but it was required to open a flickr account because it's owned by Yahoo. Or used to be. Whatevs.

  4. I don’t think I’ve ever had a Yahoo address! If I did, I haven’t a clue what it would be! I’ll have to try from my computer rather than the iPad. Maybe it’ll recognize that.

    1. A wild guess as to a Yahoo address, and I did it (from my iPad, even)! My account is now gone! Thanks for your help, Larissa! ❤️

    2. Good guessing! My pleasure! I couldn't help feeling a bit guilty about deleting it after the pleas for me not to and then the resigned msg from Flickr after I pressed the button. Wow.
