making a self-drafted top
I've long wanted to try a top similar to ones I've made for my girls from a Japanese pattern book. I drafted an adult-sized version that will hopefully work and am busy sewing it up in this light and floaty Amy Butler voile. Crossing my fingers.

Love the floral with the geometric. Lovely, especially with those pops of red! Nice choice. Hope the fits turns out! I have yet to make a garment for myself. Hoping to make a couple things for the kids for summer, time keeps escaping me though! Just trying to keep up with life seems to take up the whole of my days :). Hope you are well!!
ReplyDeleteHi, Katie, thanks so much! Always could use more time, and you have twice as many kiddos! I hope you find some peaceful you time to do some sewing. It's therapy.
DeleteLove your fabric match up! I always get a little confused by all the fabric terms (outside of cottons). Do you have any posts where you recommend fabric choices for certain projects? At the big fabric stores (joann, hancock) it seems the fabric that is best for a nice flowing shirt or dress isn't available in many cool patterns...and I'm a pattern girl!
ReplyDeleteHey, carmelsmith, sorry to be so late with an answer. Fabric can be confusing! I don't have any posts like that but the awesome thing is I know a person who does have an excellent post about that, and here it is:
