I've wonkified my straight lines so far and am now regretting my choice of off-white thread. It's just so very visible on my dark, solid backing. At first I thought the contrast would be great but now it is merely spotlighting my ineptitude. LOL. This throw will have a lot of handmade charm.
And oh yeah, I changed my mind again about the block design since I last posted. I do super love how the new quilt top arrangement came out, and also love my wonky hugemongous double cross on the back...but I am going to force myself to wait and show you the finished quilt soon. That will help motivate me.
The actual quilting is definitely my least favorite part about quilting. Probably why I have several completed tops that have been sitting in a drawer waiting for me to feel like actually quilting them. Ugh. I have not tried it, but I have heard there is a basting spray you can use for your quilt sandwich to avoid the whole pin thing. There's still the actual quilting part though. No spray for that! LOL
ReplyDeleteSkooks, I'm glad I'm not alone. Hah! I especially love shoving the entire quilt under the 6 inch arch of my machine as I try to sew a straight line.
DeleteI hope you've discovered 505 basting spray since this quilt. I wouldn't quilt if I didn't use it.
ReplyDeleteHey, Jessica! I did buy some basting spray! Haven't used it yet though because I'm successfully putting off the two quilts I have that are WIPs. haha!
