these are strange times, y'all
Hello, people of the world! I love you!
From afar though. *blows kiss*
As we all try to navigate this coronavirus crisis, I pray for the renewed health and well-being of everyone around the globe affected by this virus. I pray especially for all those in seats of authority struggling to make tough decisions, and also for our healthcare workers. What a heavy burden they are bearing! We can do this, y'all. Let us love and serve one another.
You may have guessed I'm kind of an introvert, so our voluntary office/school closings and limited forays into society are not bothersome to me yet. HOWEVER, my teens and He Whom My Soul Loves are going kind of stir crazy. As homeschoolers we are already more isolated than most, so the further cancelation of their classes, worship, sports, dances, and social gatherings are a blow for them. BUT – these are small sacrifices to make when we consider current events around the globe.
In my home state of Georgia currently there are just shy of 100 confirmed cases, but I'm sure that means many more that are undiagnosed at this time. We are trying to do our part to keep the bell curve of infections shallow. God willing, we will be on the upside of this in a few weeks.
In the interim, I officially call an isolation single player craft party at my house. I'm feeling well and there's certainly plenty of time for me to sketch, design, and craft new ornaments. Ebenezer is underway. I'm not ready to show photos yet, but I will in due time.
Appropriately distanced air hugs for everyone!
*so many heart emojis here*

Even out here in the boonies, schools will be closing as of Wed., not that that affects me. We’re also having the tp issues. Unbelievable!
ReplyDeleteVirtual hugs back to you! ❤️ Let us enjoy our lockdown craft projects and keep the prayers going up!
Hey, Grandma G! The boonies are sounding real good lately. Yeah, not sure what happened with the TP, but it's the same here too. Seems like you'd buy food instead? Anyone with a rag and bucket can wipe their behind. LOL This just all seems so surreal. May God watch over you!
DeleteWhat a lovely post! Yes everything is different for a time but our God is in control. Hugs from NH and keep on crafting all.
ReplyDeleteHi, Adonna! Thanks so much! Long distance hugs from Atlanta to NH. *clinks coffee mugs* We can do this.
DeleteHi Larissa. The insanity is just as rampant here in my town in Canada (west coast). I think this whole thing has been so overblown, and I put this squarely on the media. We too are introverts. We don't live in a rural area but we keep to ourselves and keep contact with others pretty limited. It's a good thing though, introverts are better prepared for what comes because we're more focused on a happy healthy and sane existence. 👍 Wishing you well and know that you aren't alone out there, introverts are great people. ❤
ReplyDeleteHey up and over there in Canada! Overhyped, overreported, sure, probably. Overreaction? Overcautious? Mmmmm not sure? Time will tell. I'd much rather overreact and save lives. Considering the frightening situation in Italy and Spain, I think closures and social distancing seem like good ideas to keep the spike of hospitalizations within our ability to handle. It's a tough one. Take care! Nice to meet a fellow homebody. :-)
DeleteISPCP..I'm in..at my house.
ReplyDelete*high fives* (but not actual high fives. Air high fives. From miles away.) LOL
DeleteSo.... remember the days of Feedly? (Are those days still here?!?) I don't use it anymore, so I need to sign up for the blogs I love and miss (like YOURS) via email! Cuz I just don't see them anymore!
ReplyDeleteNice to hear from you and I'm glad you're all healthy. What a crazy time we're livning in, eh? As a very EXTROVERTED extrovert, *I'm* actually enjoying the excuse to stay home. I struggle with staying home, so a lot of things don't get done... so even though this is THE WORST reason to do so, staying home is a good thing.
Yes, I remember the days... Feedburner was mine. Now alas, it is no more. It's not the same is it? You can sign up via email on the sidebar there >> near my profile.
DeleteI really feel badly for people persons, but that's a great spin on it -- getting badly neglected things done at home.
Thank you for this post! On top of the Coronavirus issues, Salt Lake City just experienced a 5.7 earthquake this morning. I've lived here for 40 years and have never witnessed such craziness. My nerves are so rattled I can barely pick up a needle and thread. But my teens were home when the earthquake happened because the schools are closed, so I'm holding them close and counting my blessings. :)
ReplyDeleteHey, Erica, I heard about that! YIKES! TOO MANY THINGS. I'm so thankful it wasn't worse, but that was pretty scary. Are things cleaned up yet? What a time for grocery stores to be turned upside down.
DeleteI look forward to seeing Ebeneezer. I am currently making 4 Santas for my grandchildren for Christmas. I have to finish them before I begin Mrs. Claus. Crazy times in Southern California as well, but I do my part and pray for everyone to get through this. Thank you for your lovely patterns. A great way to spend the time.
ReplyDeleteHi, Charlotte, Oh what lucky grandkids to be getting special handmade gifts. Hugs to you in SoCal. We'll all do our part and get through this! I'm so happy my patterns can provide a distraction.
DeleteI'm intrigued that Ebeneezer is coming soon. I was expecting something like a mouse or stocking or even a reindeer for Twas the Night before Christmas. Is this for another series? I can't wait!!!
ReplyDeleteHi, Candy, yes, it's a new series! I'm designing two series at a time. I'll be releasing more in the 'Twas the Night Series also throughout the year. :-)
