handmade gifts 2011: operation incognito for Gage

When we were in London we saw a kit with a bunch of crazy mustaches for kids and I thought it would be fun to make my own version for a cool boy I know. Some are felt, some are faux fur (thanks, Chris!) and all have elastic string to hold them on. They are in a hand lettered portable drawstring bag so he can always have them on hand in case he needs to Go On The Sly.

"And so another case is solved, Sherlock."
"Exactly, my dear Watson."

"Arr, that's a grand new ship you be havin', Bluebeard."
"Aye, me hearty, it do be that."

"I say, Inspector Smallbottom. Do you detect a certain...odor...in the car?"
"It must be the rubbish lorry we overtook a moment ago, sir."

Love this idea!! I have a son in law (yes, he's a grown up!) who would love this! He's a teacher, and a great grower of bizarre mustaches. This would be such a neat accessory for him! I also have smaller person whom I know would love this! Guess I'll have to make 2! Thanks so much for this!

Ha ha, I made one for the boy in the advent calender (hm, the angels made it though)... but your variety is great!

That is the cutest idea!! We had a spy party a few years back for our son. That would have made a fabulous treat!! I'll have to keep this idea stocked away.

Would you consider making these and selling them? My middle son would LOVE these! LMK!

Larissa said...

Ichamrick, boy would I love to. But zero time to devote to that, unfortunately. Good thing they are a cinch to make - do you have a friend that sews? All it takes is elastic thread, felt, and faux fur.
