drummer prototype


Here's the latest diminutive drummer prototype. He's number 9 in my Twelve Days series of Christmas ornaments. (The 1780 version of the song is ordered a bit differently from the one you probably sing, but don't worry. The pipers, ladies, and lords are coming!)

This little guy is still minus his hands, drumsticks and embroidery. And possibly his mustache. Still pondering. I'm mostly happy with the sizing except he needs a bigger drum! The next prototype will have some decorative stitching. Time to tweak the pattern again before my next go!

Spring fever is coming on hard and only a few more weeks left of school! I think I might be more excited about that than my two students.

    So looking forward to his eventual release. The prototype is looking great - some decorative stitching will be the icing on the cake.

    I just love your twelve days series. They are all so pretty. I'm looking forward to seeing his decoration. I'm guessing the stitching will make the drum look more like a drum right? Because right now that looks like a bag to me. I have to make these some day, or maybe just try to buy them from you xD

      Thank you, Yasmijn! Yeah, the drum with the embroidery added will hopefully look more like a drum and less like a messenger bag. haha! And you'll have to make your own, because as much as I love making them, I don't sew custom orders! :-)

    LOVE your 12 Days ornaments! They are beautifully detailed and very creative. I am thinking of teaching these to folks here in Mozambique where I live and then selling them in the US to help support what we do here. Would love if you could check us out and offer any suggestions for helping new sewers. We have a Facebook page: Life For Mozambique. Any chance you will have all 12 done this summer??? I know ... nag, nag, nag. :-)
